Status Updates From Searching for Simphiwe

I didn’t enjoy the first story; I still don’t understand its plot. It felt unnecessary. Moving on to the next one!

The 2nd short story reads better than the 1st. I hope this upward trajectory continues. I get the sense that Sifiso Mzobe wanted to turn “Searching for Simphiwe” into a novel when the publisher called for pages. Stress-less, I’ll read it in deconstructed form

I have always enjoyed Sifiso Mzobe writing and I was looking forward to his 2nd book after having thoroughly enjoyed his debut novel Young Blood. These short stories for me were so relatable because they address every day issues such police corruption, nyaope, bribery in the workplace . The story of Searching for Simphiwe hit home

I normally stay away from short stories , but i am liking these ones. Very relatable
