There are a lot of political references from 2003. I was very young at the time of the Bush administration and I am naive about the Iraq war. I need to do some research about that time period so I can understand the strips.
There was a mention of the SARS pandemic which was very interesting to read now during the COVID-19 pandemic. I do agree that the news can inflate the seriousness of the disease.

The comics in this book was written alongside the TV series. I was reading it in the voices of the TV series and it is very entertaining. I was surprised to see that difference in what can be said in the two different medias. In the comics, profanity is rarely found, but the social commentary centers around government and politics. The TV series has a lot of profanity and comments on social aspects of society.
