Status Updates From The Beasts of Success

An example of a literary element in my book was a conflict. This conflict occurred between two employees which were sabotaging each other for a promotion. This was effective as it did create a sense of tension as I wanted to know who got the promotion in the end.

Dale was trying to get a customer to buy a pill which would help the patient in his condition and he used his credibility to prove it. "If you answered yes to any of these questions, don't worry, we have the miracle solution for you, all in one pill." (Ether, 151) This wasn't really effective because Dale was just an employee in the office and wasn't a doctor nor a person who works in a pharmacy.

The book prompted me to ask why Dale has such an attitude wherever he goes. He easily gets irritated and says things he never really means. He has been like it all throughout the book but it never says how and why he is like that. One other question is why he always wears a suit wherever he goes. He doesn't like to wear anything beside it.

The best part of my reading today is where Jeremy tries Dale's advise and it becomes a success instead of backfiring. He had gotten an underserved colleague at his office fired because he was undeserving unlike Jeremy. The part on how he does it gets really interesting.

The thing that surprised me the most was how the 3 of the friends started to devise plans which made things happen in their favor. It had only been 2 weeks since they talked about and it was already starting to happen.

"nefarious" is a word that I chose because it is a word that I normally don't see often. It was also an interesting word choice for the sentence it was in. Therefore, it stood out to me.

Dale is telling Tim how due to corruption, someone else got the promotion he deserved. They are probably going to start using their own trick to counter this problem.
