This book was a gem and I adored it. It was one of the best books that I've read this year. 😁 I look forward to reading more of Eve Yohalem's books in the future.

The character development in this book was fantastic. I loved the friendship between Blue and Jules. And how Jules didn't fit into the snobby rich girl trope. She was very smart, determined, and she wanted a better relationship with her dad. She felt real even though she's fictional.

I loved the plot twist at the end of this book. It was kind of funny and it was well done. I started this book with no expectations. I just thought it sounded interesting and I was intrigued by the author's name because I thought that her last name was Hebrew—apparently I was right, and it is. I also thought the story sounded fun.

I should've written this last night, but I looked up a continuous glucose monitor and realized that my late pet dachshund had one. She got one shortly after she was diagnosed with diabetes a couple of years ago. It was a useful and convenient way for my mom to check her glucose levels. CGMs seem pretty handy and I hope that they are.

I'm glad that Ed had character development in this book. He was a jerk at the beginning and throughout the story. Luckily, his love for Jules won out, and that helped him become more present for her.
I want to see what a continuous glucose monitor looks like. I'll look it up.

I already knew the fact about how dogs have cleaner mouths than humans. I still don't want the dogs in my life to lick me on the lips and I think that's fair.

That chapter was suspenseful AF. I learned something new and shitty about Fitz who continued to be a greedy beast. No surprise there. 🙄

I chuckled when Blue's dad called their family a 'benevolent dictatorship family' and said that he and Blue's mom were the dictators. And that Blue was the 'oppressed citizen'. That was very humorous!!

"Because people who do great things don't ask for permission. They just do the great thing, no matter what."
This dialogue from Jules is fantastic and true. I loved her reference to Clara Barton as well. That was great!! So was Blue's reference to civil disobedience. 😍

Sad thoughts aside, Blue and Otis's bond is touching to read about. It's very sweet and heartwarming. 🥰

Otis's love for peanut butter reminded me of my late miniature dachshund Liesel since she loved peanut butter too. That made me a little sad. 😟 My aunt is right about grief. It can come in nudges.

I can relate to finding interesting or sentimental items while cleaning out a room in my house. That happened earlier this summer when I cleaned out my bedroom.

I appreciated the girls standing up for each other when they were talking to Blue's dad about the treasure hunt.

These poor kids are so busted. 😮 Although I understand Blue's parents' concern for her safety.

It's sweet that Jules feels so touched by Blue's friendship. Some people aren't like that in real life tbh. A lot of people are jerks and assholes in real life and they can be very uncaring and awful.

Awww wrt Blue telling Jules that she wanted her moral support when she (meaning Blue) gave her speech. I like it when a book makes my teeth rot. 😉😆

That was quite the plot twist. Damn!! 😮
I'd like to read the next short chapter, but I'm not going to read with a headache. I'll read it tomorrow. Time for bed. 🥱😴

It's cute that Otis loved being groomed. My dog hates it and doesn't understand what's happening when he's being groomed. 😆

I'm glad that Jules realized she was being a jerk to Blue when she (meaning Blue) was in a terrifying situation with her diabetes.

It was nice to read about Blue and Jules apologizing to each other after a fight, but apologies sometimes aren't like that in real life. People rarely take accountability for their screw-ups or mistakes because their egos are too fragile.

Being poked by a hypodermic needle sounds like it'd be awful. 😵💫😖
Jules is continuing to grow on me. I appreciate her generosity towards Blue and how Jules wanted to help her and Otis.

I wasn't expecting the twist involving Blue's dad being against the treasure hunt. And Blue hasn't been given the reason. Perhaps her parents are trying to protect her for some reason. 🤔

It's laughable that Blue and Jules argued about who had it worse during their plot to install the hidden camera. Blue swam through grotesque pond muck and Jules distracted stupid boys. Considering that Blue's blood sugar shot up and she swam in disgusting water, it's obvious who had it worse.
