I can't help but think this author needed a better editor. It's like she fell in love with her words and couldn't stand to cut anything. Not sure the cat POV adds anything other than more words in a book that's already taking too long to go somewhere.

I want to like this book but it’s not an easy read. It doesn’t suck me in or compel me to keep reading. It’s a bit too cardboard and superficial at this point. Also spends too much time making the same point over and over.
