Moon Knight #7
It’s really fun watching as Moon Knight slowly evolves each issue into the character he becomes. This issue further foreshadowing his DID and also adding Lockley’s mustache. I think the plot of poisoning Chicago’s water is also really fun. Lowkey Batman Begins stole that shit.

I think this is a fun issue involving the whole gang, but what I really love about this issue is the work they put in laying the groundwork for what will become Marc’s DID. I also am thankful for how they back out of the whole werewolf powers in this issue.

I think the narrative jumping around in this issue just serves to detract from an already not super compelling story.

Moon Knight #4
Fun little story that I imagine was created with the intention of retconning Moon Knight’s origin, but I enjoy said retcon as it better fits the character.

A pretty generic run of the mill story. I don’t think the Midnight Man is incredibly fascinating and has a pretty easy reveal to see coming.

I think this is a very middle of the road issue. I think it’s very cool getting more from Gena and Crawley. But Crawley’s son being the slasher isn’t my favorite twist, but I do love the tragedy of it.

“He sees her through a crimson haze, feels the blood in his wrist pounding against her fingers… and does not understand, cannot comprehend the plea for mercy.”
The writing, the art, and the ambiguity ingrained within this character are just all so unbelievably fascinating to me. Bushman and Marlene are also phenomenal characters to play off of Moon Knight.

Marvel Preview #21
I don’t think the story in this issue is overly interesting, but there are a lot of very compelling elements within it. Obviously the art by Bill Sienkiewicz is stunning, but this issue really shows the building blocks for what will become Moon Knight’s DID. I think Marlene also stands out in this issue

I really love how this issue explores Marc spinning out as be worries about Marlene. Seeking justice and retribution wherever he can.

Hatchet Man was a really good villain. His hatred for Marc at being better than him is really interesting. This arc is just so good for the character of Marc Spector.

This is what i was looking forward to. Marc’s maniac brother makes for a very good villain. And Rand making Marlene a victim is for good motivation and a good showcase of his villainy

Bummer that they gotta reference moon related powers, but I think the reveal of Hulk and Moon Knight intertwining is really fun.

The art is these issues is so phenomenal. The panel of Moon Knight crouched on a tree branch with his cape forming a crescent moon behind him is just so awesome. The way the duel ends with Lupinar is cool, but overall I didn’t have a ton of interest in the story.
