This was a “couldn’t put down” book for me. I felt deep compassion for the son who came out as gay and dealt with the range of responses and I also felt for the parents who navigated this uncharted territory. I feel better equipped knowing my role is to love. Matthew 25:40 came to mind.

I can’t put this book down! I love that this mother realized that loving her son, no matter what was most important. As a member of the same church I can’t help but put myself in this mother’s shoes and I’m so glad I’m learning from her mistakes so that I can be a better disciple.
