Soooo, I really want to like this book but I’m starting to get annoyed by a few things.
One, I feel we get to hear everybody’s thought but Jaxton’s.
Two, Emily seems like a person who too caught up in the idea of “helping” without actually helping when help is needed let alone asked
Three, Mira you may think you’re smart but you act like a child. Self-Centered and needy.

Solid Psych reference in there. Mira is insufferable, though that's not a criticism as I assume she is supposed to be. Sarah still seems 5 and not 8.

This one is more coherent than the first and ultimately, I am enjoying the family's story and development. They're fun. The genre is fun. There's action and heart. My one constant frustration is the youngest daughter being 8. She's written like she's 5 or 6, maybe. Certainly not 8. I like the character, but the age seems off.
