can't believe I'm almost finished... now I'm wishing the book was longer!

getting into some of the more modern meaty stuff which i'm really enjoying. im glad ignacio ramonet asks him the hard questions, about the death penalty, arrest of dissidents, influence of the pepole on government, etc

he keeps saying "listen" as if i'm not completely sucked in already

me having a panic attack: you know what will make me feel better? reading about cuban medical internationalism and their fight against apartheid south africa.

and you know what, i was right

god, reading castro's recollections of the period around che's death, talking about why he respected him so deeply and loved him & what lessons he still carries from him had me SOBBING IN PUBLIC !!!!

when enjoying all the nice glossy picture pages i kept thinking "damn why are these all in black and white? was it too expensive to print in colour? that would really add to these pictures." anyway you'll never believe what wasn't available in the 1950s........
