Status Updates From Tipping the Velvet

Unrealistic af. The protagonist becomes a sex worker, yet the men are never forceful or creepy. She dresses as a man but nobody suspects her of being a woman, and almost every female character is a horny lesbian. Is the author really this naive or does she take the reader for a fool? Are we forgetting that it’s the 1800s? Whats the purpose of writing abt the past if the portrayal of it is unrealistic anyway?

This book is BIZZARE but also predictable, idk what to make of it😭

I am finding this book is going on abit long. But still enjoying it.
