if you’ve made a point to talk about how the name that the european colonisers gave the Choppunish people was incredibly racist, then why the ever loving fuck would you continue to use the colonisers’ name for them for the rest of the chapter

enjoying this more now than I was in the first section. the book started very yeehaw usa but parts 2 and 3 have been much more focussed on salmon lore and history associated with the northern european celts and the indigenous peoples of north america and siberia which is much more my vibe. also we're back to torrential hail storms now. it was 36°c two weeks ago.
