Status Updates From Paola Santiago and the Rive...

Well that was a load. In some ways I'm not surprised though! And how much can Ondina really be trusted?

Headcanon theory: Sal of the Niños is this universe's version of Sal Vidón. And he is the best! But even as Pao and her new companion Bruto reach the Rift, their trials are just beginning. That scene of forgiveness really made me cry... but when this all ends, can Pao forgive herself?

Aw, I think Dante really likes Pao! More than he's willing to admit! But Pao fears she might be corrupted by the Rift and despite her newfound knowledge, is far from saving Emma. Being stuck on the sidelines also isn't helping her...

Paola is truly out of her element. But can Marisa (or her possible spirit?) even be trusted? Can anything be trusted in this crazy, messed up mystic world? And what does Abuela Mata know that she didn't (or can't) fully explain? What is the Third Quarter? Who is the Dreamer? Where is Emma? Is she safe, or even still alive? So many questions, very few answers...

Well crud. Emma is truly missing. But what does a ruby ring and other jewelry pieces have to do with the missing people? Also, is it strange that I want some cheese tamales? (Preferably warm ones.) Also, does Paola not have a microwave she can use to heat or reheat food? Man, that's rough!

I like it so far. Even though I'm not the target audience for this book, I think I know what happened to some of Paola's neighbors, even if her mom won't tell her. And the supernatural events happening under the surface... how long before the river tries to hurt Pao and her friends? And will her father ever show up?
