Notes:
(1) Catalina's act of worldly rebellion seems a lot like an Amish rumspringa, or at least popular conceptions of one.
- Ultimately, it amounts to the same result, a crystallization of faith and purpose.
- I guess this is the "tempted in the wilderness" analogue/retelling.
(2) We get a "Jupiter's Legacy" reference. "Utopian" and "Lady Liberty" comics lay on the floor.

Notes:
(1) The first thing you really notice is the difference in art. I don't know if the coloring's digital watercolors, but it's noticeably cleaner.
- It also has what looks like a digitally roughed-up watercolor paper texture.
(2) The first issue is basically a modern retelling of the Annunciation, with a Danny Trejo looking guy as (I can only assume) the angel Gabriel.

(1) So, from reading the blurb at the back of the book, this is apparently a prequel.
- Though, I'm getting the sense from the title and issue covers that it's more like the other side of the Armageddon coin, and this profiles Jodie's opponent.
(2) This is the same creative team a decade and a half after the last book, so it'll be interesting to compare and contrast.

Is it wrong that I find it hilarious that the Netflix adaptation of AMERICAN Jesus, which all takes place in The United States, will be a spanish-language show that takes place in Mexico...? For all of his big talk about how powerful he is in Hollywood, this is an even bigger "shit on the source material" than the WANTED adaptation...
