Status Updates From The Complete Sherlock Holme...

The Adventure of the Retired Colourman - It's a good story to go out on. The introduction of a "rival" of Holmes, his hiring by the villain, and the police taking credit for the entirety of Holmes' work serves as an interesting coda to the whole saga. There are a couple of character eccentricities I'm not fond of between Holmes and Watson, harsh, but it may be this one wasn't written closer to the end. Enjoyable. 4*

The Adventure of Shoscombe Old Place - Second to last Holmes story! And this one turns out to be a bit of a dry mystery - no murder, just some good old fashioned hijinks, with a little bit of impropriety. There's not a lot of meat on this one, character work, outside of the clever story that turns out to be lighter in tone than it could have been. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's not entirely memorable. 3 star
