I am overwhelmed by how terrible this book is!! SOOOO many (unnecessary) words for a tiny bit of (uninteresting) action. And it’s all so melodramatic. The prostate cancer freak out was just the beginning! If the family is going to loose their shit, make it lung or pancreatic or brain cancer or something less common and faster moving!

WAY too many characters in the cast here. I get that there were probably other books in a related series that makes all these names and this family relevant, but authors need to ease readers into this shit when we're starting a new series. It's such a pet peeve of mine. And this book jumps from POVs rather quickly. Is it about Shea and Shep or Austin and Sierra? (S name fetish happening for sure here!)

Horribly boring so far. Like reading somebody’s day planner. Pages and pages of irrelevant and often repetitive details like who’s working what shift or how much the shop means to Sierra or how she’s going to tell Austin she can’t ride with him. Some of this we don’t need to know at all! The rest we only need to hear once!!! Instead we get a chapter full of the same babbling shite.
