I appreciate the variety of genres that are being presented in this anthology, though I find myself needing to sit with each story for longer than I normally would to properly differentiate one from another. The unintended consequence, I suppose, of leading each story with the same opening phrase. A collection of diverse voices shoehorned into a state of homogeneity.

This book feels like returning to a friend's home after a night of partying. This feels like visiting old friends after a long quarantine when you've been deprived of any communal activity or companionship or human touch. This feels like a reprieve from the old dusty path.

I found the first ten stories to be pretty 50/50, but the additional 7 I read this week were almost all good; the ones that I didn't enjoy were only 2-3 pages. 17 down, 17 to go.

Read 10 out of the 34 stories here so far (the first 9 plus skipped ahead and read Gary Shipley's piece.) Enjoyed Gary's chapter, and the chapters by B.R Yeager, and Grant Maierhofer (the only 2 I've read full books from.) The rest has been a mixed bag for me, I also enjoyed Mike Corrao and Judson Hamilton, but some of the most experimental stuff in here just doesn't click with me. Maybe over my head? DNF 1 story
