As with most Lovecraft, I've probably read it. I only have the essay on Supernatural Horror to go, which is pretty boring, but so are most of his letters. This would be an odd modern collection, as some of the most xenophobic tales are included, including Redhook and He, one after the other, no less. It's still probably a decent sampling of Lovecraft, if not the best of compilation.

Beyond the wall of sleep- my goodness gracious me the racism towards indigenous people here is fucking mental. I think the story itself was okay, seemingly an agnostic explanation as to the immemorability of dreams after the fact, there are definitely some interesting ideas there but idk, doesnt really hit for me. Also seriously bro could not go a page without giving the most disgusting description of this man.

Polaris- This story I didnt like as much, its somewhat hard to follow and his racism is REALLY apparent which was really off putting. Did enjoy the intertwining elements of astronomy, war and questioning of reality though. I generally enjoy any media which asks how to define reality, but here though I did appreciate it, I didn't really emotionally connect with it as such.

Dagon: I really enjoyed Lovecrafts style of writing, its somewhat obtuse but feels deliberately so and adds to the sense of building dread through the story. The imagery was pretty interesting, though thanks in part to the aforementioned writing style, wasnt the easiest to visualise at first. There are definitely merits to this story but feel somewhat underexplored owing to the length of it.
