At best, the tone is very muted. Maybe it was revolutionary for it's time but a lot of these ideas have been assimilated in teaching circles and are very much being bought up everyday in discussions of critical pedagogy.

So far I've read 5 essays and I'm a bit underwhelmed. It's a lot of vague, generic language and overquoting other academics, not much "critical" opinion or practical advice (which, admittedly, I may have gone in with misleading expectations, but then again I have heard SO MUCH praise for hooks)
