when the character that was obviously going to be a red herring turns out not to be a red herring, most likely: gah! fooled by the superior mind of the mystery writer again 😩

“whose got you smiling like that?” and having to be like uhhh I’m just reading a murder mystery when I am in fact reading about two dorks in LOVE who are also snarky assholes but yes there is technically murder going on
