i hate when it feels like the characters go from strangers to sooo entirely smitten and in love with each other in what feels like 10 minutes...idk i've get they've been stuck on a small boat together every day for a month so it could make sense.....maybe we just didn't get enough scenes of them just talking one on one..idk it just feels so fast

this just isn't what i was hoping it would be i guess..i should've known when i saw how short it was

i was more hoping for a very character drive story that would use the trip as a metaphor for grief or whatever but instead there is like dramatic plot points and just not enough emphasis on the characters (other than surface level)

there's this thing that happens in soo many books i read where a character will tell some kind of joke or just do/say something that is worthy of a chuckle at best and yet another character will "crack up" at it and i get we all have different senses of humor but it makes me cringe every time lol
