What 'standard' though? Show budgies in no way resemble wild budgies, nor pet budgies, and they never were bred to serve any other purpose, so by what possible criteria has the standard come into being and what purpose can it serve? Normal showing had some function once that has since been hopelessly corrupted, but this never could have. This is peak worthless breeding without rhyme or reason.
