Status Updates From While I Was Gone

So beautifully written that it causes pause. Dialogue so real it made me chuckle.

okay WOW not where i thought this was going at ALL. the confession actually had me gasp bc yes Dana was beyond fucked up to do that to Eli and just not offer him any empathy with their agreement but him stabbing her?? to get her to listen?? completely unexpected. im scared for Jo, especially w her husband knowing she totally meant to have an affair. in a way, at least she's safe from Eli??

will i keep reading tonight? we'll see. main character i can't really say i like her, her husband(Daniel) is kinda perfect. her desire to go back to someone she never really had anything with in her past is so interesting because it has no real weight to her. but Eli(the man in question) does have motive from what we've heard from him so far. is Jo compliant? to a fault even? its just difficult to believeshewantsthis

gonna keep reading tonight(bathroom break) but i just wanted to say this book feels so privileged--at least the way its written. Eli feels aggressive in the present compared to the more silent guy he's been describes in his youth. People change but if Jo pursues him, its entirely reckless. For some reason she wants to be like her daughter Cass, its very unclear and vague her wants(Jo I mean).

sometimes the writing can be very vague but its steady, rip Arthur💔

see i though Dana was starting to become too needy and unbearable and was bracing for more whiny 'choose me Licia' behavior and then she died. OH WELL

started reading this while i read 'The Last Man', im really enjoying it don't really want it gone too quickly. this book is sweet and steady so far, i like it. wonder how her life will change from here. how old is she i wonder hm
