Raymond Wang, a pandemic+prevention air circulation inventor... He also gave a speech at "ciudad de las ideas" 2015, and apparently it's a festival, which kind of resembles Ted Talk circuits, except more "Olympic". (That being said, they had Steven Pinker & Sam Harris circa 2008 & 2009, so that scares me.)

"People think you have to be some sort of genius to carry out a project like this. You don't. We are far from that; we are not near that at all. It quite simply was a mix of hard work, passion and honestly a lot of luck. We happened to find out about a bacteria out of all the millions of bacteria, and then. Happened to put it on crops that it would work on."
For example, they had a spare bedroom to make shift a lab

"Every 6 hours we'd have to look at these deeds and inspect each one individually for like a tiny little root. So we had to do this every 6 hours, this meant we might look at over 1000 seeds at 12 o'clock at night, which if we were lucky would take 2 hours, and then get back up at 6AM to do it all over again."

World hunger has more to do with distribution of food as opposed to production, however, due to climate cataclysm & privatization, yes, we are heading for another famine (& extinction), and yes, this sort of info can help, similar to how meds + changing the environment can help with mental distress

Jazz had a good biographical speech
Malala talked about promises, as if those aren't broken (tho I appreciate her bismallah)
Patrick Kane is offensively ableist! Cyberfeminism/Xenofeminism already dealt with that topic. Relying on technology to fix things is bioessentialist & classist. He admits to having parents with the money that the govt dead beated on. Disability is a powerful description as is marginalization!

So squick about the suffragette reference because that has since become associated with white supremacism & queerphobia.
Also squick, they're playing into the red scare & a 23 year old works at "George W Bush Presidential Center's Human Freedom Initiative". Meanwhile, more than 1 in 7 kids in USA go hungry, while Bush & Clinton worked to murder more than 500,000 Iraqi kids from 1995-2009
WTF conservative bullshit!

We need communism so kids can contribute more freely. Also because 3D printing prosthetics turns out to run into problems with "intellectual property"... We deserve better

So I'm reading these & now I don't feel so bad about having had some wrong praxis when I was a kid. The 1992 speech & the 1964 speech were rather good, though with the 1992 dutch the answer is the wealth comes from the robbery & unwillingness to share.
Ugh, like I need to figure out if I'm going up critique each of these speeches or if I'm going about this for admiring the power.
