Status Updates From Holocaust: A History

determined to finish this book this week.

next i will read either john green’s tuberculosis book, the diary of anne frank, or maus. quite the range of options.

50 pages left. i’ve been reading this book for far too long

progress (trying to read this book more but dang it’s dense and i want to make sure im absorbing all of it so it’s taking me forever!!)

hoping to read this more often. got a new pen and it makes annotating v enjoyable (despite this being a book about the holocaust ofc)

this book is so dense but i have to annotate or else i’ll forget to pay attention to what i’m reading 🫢

slowly but surely

the indifference of so many world leaders never fails to shock me!

trying to read as much as i can before my work’s yom hashoah commemoration, but alas i do not think i will have become an expert on the holocaust by then

the prose of this book is such a relief after the poor writing of my last one 😭 it’s also wild to read about events i know my family’s been a part of (and it’s mostly only talked about the 1800s-1919 so far)

i am annotating this book and trying to take it all in so no one is allowed to judge me for how slowly i’m about to go through this >:(

i’m only 14 pgs in, but it’s wonderfully well-written so far. the prose itself is enjoyable. i’m having trouble following this first chapter, as it’s kinda hard to see where the author is going… so far we’ve talked about post-holocaust netherlands, the catholic church’s role in the history of jew hatred, the inquisition, the enlightenment, and the french rev…
