The d/s kink really comes out of nowhere, and it's not explained at all by Riper, who initiates it, but by Kenzie, in her inner monolog describing it, who is submitting to it. I find that very strange and clinical. I want to hear it from him with words. And I'm into that, but that just done weird here.

It's somewhat boring so far even though a lot is happening... I think it's a lot of telling instead of showing. They tell me there is sexual tension, but I'm not feeling it. Their first kiss/sex is happening right now and it's too descriptive in a detached way. It sort of comes out of nowhere.

This story is addictive in the best of ways. I like the very well researched, accurate and real feeling the author creates in this world and with the issues the characters are dealing with. So far, so good!!
