The Jeweled Wren - THIS is how you do subversive metafiction ABOUT horror that is not the most annoying "Ummmm reference much?" shit I cannot STAND. I know at least half a dozen horror writers who should have this story stapled to their eyelids.

Sisyphus in Elysium - This is maybe, if not the single most interesting and emotionally effective retelling of Greek mythology that I've ever read. A 10/10 love story about the afterlife of the original rock star. One of the best stories I think I've read all year.

Monkey in the Woods - I don't know if I've ever read horror quite like this. There's this surrealist dream logic to it but also a kind of voice-y stream-of-consciousness imprint that's on most of the stories so far.

And every time I think I'm bored he throws in a wild knuckleball that's never more than a sentence long that's REALLY unnerving.

Hibbler's Minions - I am a sucker for a story about a fucked up carnival. I'll bite the hook every time and this one is GREAT.
