In here, the author seems to have a clarity in her situation that is both mature and heartbreaking. It makes the writing feel so poignant and thought-provoking.

I love how the author talks about more than just grief, but the insecurities and questions she had for her lover. I've previously read books about grief, and sometimes the author is clearly still processing the death, and so they tend to portray the person they lost as a perfect being, like a martyr or angel, so guiltless, all doe-eyed and innocent.
