Status Updates From The Museum Makers: A Journe...

I think the last chapter I read, “The Letter,” was one of the worst chapters in the book. She went on a frankly, unprompted tangent so long basically like ‘there are so many (written works) in this one museum I’m working with, and letter writing was so hard in the 1800s..’ and on and yet poorly connected it to her family. It’s like talking with that one friend that makes everything about them somehow.

To be so honest, this book isn’t particularly interesting. Morris goes back and forth between tangents that are almost unrelated—but just related enough to somehow bring it back to what she was previously talking about— and it’s hard to follow. I’m still hopeful about the rest of this memoir, but that feels naive.
