“The Evening and the Morning and the Night” was so deeply unsettling, I stan

transgressive and gritty. I love the stories about disease - strange and alien, yet somehow also vaguely familiar.
Near of Kin was the most unsettling - but the afterword helped put a lot of her work in a better context.

Holy shit, my first dive back into sci fi is with a male pregnancy story. I'm glad I'm finally reading Butler, her style is good. I'm learning how she does things. She first plunges you into a place and there's some disturbing shit going on, but what is it exactly? Then there's the psychological drama. Maybe I'll finish it today!
