Status Updates From Fate (Malthusia #1)

I’m all for an author revealing backstory slowly, over time, but the history of Malthusia would be nice to know. Clearly.

I’m really hoping the author has strongly worded TWs in the blurb. This isn’t for the squeamish

They’d been created by scientists influenced by the Three-Faced God, a god who had evolved and abandoned his previous mistakes on the other side of the veil. But if being born gendered was such a mistake, why were Malthusians the only things the Almighty had created this way? Surely, if developing gender according to need was such a great idea, all of God’s creations on this side of the veil would be similar?

Very intricate reasoning behind gender and non-gender manifesting in this world.

It’s barbaric in some ways the methodology in this world. I can certainly understand this strange dystopian world and how it came to be.
Still turns my stomach a little bit

Don’t know if I like the implication of rape and torture victims enjoying it “because biology”.
