I think the perspective on alcohol and exercise was misguided. There is much evidence to state that alcohol in a non-pregnant person is detrimental and causes cell damage/death. Causing this to a fetus is not ideal even if there are few effects in youth. Increased cell death and damage increases the shortening of telomeres. Exercise is proven to be beneficial at all stages of life as well and decreases complications.
