Status Updates From Hide and Seek (Upside-Down ...

I feel like this one took us back to the roots of the first book! We returned to the first conflicts like Nory’s family dynamics and Elliot’s tension with the Sparkies. I liked that this was a glimpse at an alternate reality where Nory gets into Sage Academy and/or Sage Academy accepts upside down students. I enjoyed Elliot’s perspective, and I cannot wait to see what he decides after that cliffhanger! 3.5🌟

The UDM has been a metaphor for disability or kids with sensory needs (i.e. autism, diagnosed or not) who aren't being given accommodations by their family and school. That goes into overdrive here as Nory is forced back to Sage temporarily. All us neurodivergent or disabled folks feel this one big time, because we've all experienced the horseshit Nory's dad does.

Ooh this ones gonna hurt. Neurodivergent kids at a private school. Ouch
