Well. So far I'm skipping a fuck ton of extraneous shit I don't care or really need to know about, especially how much they talk about the minutiae of the "game mechanics". It's super fuckin annoying, ngl. I don't know I'll be able to get through this, which is a shame because the concept is one I like. Also, the dad makes piss poor decisions where his own character is concerned. Like, really dumb. Impressively so.

It has terrible chapter division and it continuously describes the emotions and actions of the characters in an overview of the scene instead of the characters acting on said emotions. It's a David Webber-like litrpg but with constantly cliffhanger from the fights exactly in the most intense moments to segue to another character around the continent.

There is a lot of dissonance between how the characters explain how they feel, how the act and how the narrator describe the scene. It feels maniac and disjointed.

Its like if Hallmark made a lit rpg. Its very, aggressively middle white upper class christian family adventure
