I have to say this vision of an unembodied life that is a lot about feeling and connecting feels like a dream of the internet - what it was not yet when this book was published and what it has since stopped being because of Big Tech.

This is *almost* pretty good, while being mostly
Chaos.

READING IN ALL CAPS FOR ENTIRE CHAPTERS IS SO LOUD AND EXHAUSTING. WTF, ALLI?!

Aha, so Tiptree can write a joyous sex scene, as long as the sex is between two flying squidlike(?) aliens orgasming from magnetic life-fields in a wind current with no physical contact. Aliens, that reliable resort of dysmorphic eroticism.

If Tiptree’s smoke rises up forever maybe they can get some joy from watching us cool nonbinary people set landmines under gender.

Chapter 15 is so fun!
