The third story is really promising. The first two honestly fell flat for me.

my first time reading a book by this author despite wanting to do so for YEARS. it’s probably not the best introduction to his work as it doesn’t reflect other excerpts of his acclaimed novels I have read in the past. Still, it’s a good way for me to get out of a reading rut as short story collections always aid me in that endeavour
