Carson squeezes my leg in silent support. I’m sure the weight of this decision is evident from my silence as I gaze out the window. This is without a doubt, the second toughest decision of my life. The first was keeping my son, knowing he would leave me and it could have potentially ended my career. I regret nothing.

“Brinley, can we go play PS4 in Austin’s room now?”
I smile and nod. “Of course.”
As soon as the boys are out of earshot Carson looks at me and wiggles his brows. “Brinley, can we go play in your room now?”
I burst into laughter and slap him playfully. “Not yet we can’t, but I can promise you there will be some playing in my room in just a bit.”
“Good, because I love playing with you.”

"I feel like he forgets that I’m fourteen.” He looks at his dad. “I’m not your little boy anymore.”
Carson nods. “I know son, but for the last fourteen years, it’s been just you and I. You are my life and like Taryn got upset that she had to share her brother, I didn’t want you upset that it wasn’t just you and I anymore.”

I find myself cleaning the kitchen once again while I anxiously wait for Carson to arrive. It’s amazing to me that I get so excited to see him. I’m so used to living life with just me and Austin that I didn’t realize how much the right man could make a difference in my life, and now that I found him, it’s hard to go even a few days without seeing him.

I'm having fun writing this book! I love watching two characters come to life! Brinley and Carson are amazing single parents raising two boys who are both great soccer players.

Austin and Miles are both about to try out for the high school soccer team, but will they both make it?

Carson and Brinley have both been hurt by loss and now they are trying to heal and move on forming a relationship together!
