Idk anyone as dumb as adrien is. Like have a shame to your self. I loathef jake so much I despise him

There are these moments where Adrian assigns so much credit to Jake as though he has done so much in terms of solving cases. We are currently reading the books and that’s just not the case. There hasn’t been a book where Jake has been really instrumental in actually solving a case or part of the resolution of the case. I find the revisionist history, incredibly insulting and frustrating.

Adrien is hypocritical: He criticizes Jake’s dishonesty and betrayal, but refuses to fully own his own role as the “other man", the complicit.

He plays the victim while also making selfish choices and hiding behind self-righteousness.

This is wjat I don't like about this series, while dislike Jake for who he is, Adrien English is also vrry flawed:

A pushover in many relationships
Morally gray, even selfish at times
An adulterer and emotionally evasive
Struggling deeply with fear of commitment

....

I really cannot put into words how ragey this book is making me. Especially without spoilers. To be clear, the book is written wonderfully, and the mystery is great. Jake is just pissing me off and better be ready to grovel. UGH.
