Plutarco es aquí un elitista en (aunque busque en parte excusarse de la crítica de 'consejos para ricos'). Aunque la importancia que da a la educación (a la crianza en general) es justa. Algunos consejos se me hacen parte también de la barbarie que él mismo denuncia en otros como tratar al hijo estratégicamente, a veces con dureza otras con blandura. Pero aprovechable texto sin duda.

La edición es muy agradable de leer, pequeña, manejable, aunque puede tener una letra demasiado pequeña para ciertas vistas. La introducción general es muy breve. Incluye introducciones particulares a cada texto antes de cada uno, también muy breves. No estamos ante los estudios de las ediciones Gredos. El espacio aquí se lo lleva su contenido bilingüe griego-inglés.
