“Brains are gloomy: bad experiences receive far more attention than good ones.” True, but what has that to do with touch?

This book is really weird. I don’t like how it’s set up, I don’t like the artwork and it’s not what I was expecting at all. I was looking for a book that explained touch and how it’s different for non-neuro-typical people and how to be able to engage in physical touch with someone who has certain aversions to it in a respectful way. That is not this book. I am disappointed. Might DNF.

"Nerves are not only sensitive at the receptor end of the nerve. There are membrane channels along the whole length of the nerve that soak up chemical signals such as stress hormones and inflammatory modulators."
This is incorrect. Myelinated axon nodes only have voltage-gated ion channels. Sensory and proprioceptive afferents have receptive fields. Besides, channels only ever to influence synaptic transmission...
