All right, she's got me. I'm rooting for Westin now, but he's still an ass who deserves a reckoning. Give him daughters to worry about. Men like the first half of his life will make him tremble.

I still don't like Westin, but the story is progressing as intended. In truth, the story and writing are exactly what you might hope for, I suspect my response is to the handling of the trope (Beauty and the Beast). Westin is more beastly than I prefer, which is odd because I loved the Beast in B&B.

A little clarification, I know this is a romance trope, but the negative reaction I am having to Westin is so strong it's making me physically hot. I do not like men who use their physical nature to overpower a woman, unless he is doing so to protect her or someone from her. I'd like nothing more than to see him seriously injured, rejected by his men, and castigated. I don't like it at all. How will she fix it?

As if chapter 9, I would like to see the wolf murdered. Rolf is a more amiable character.

Totally reliable fare, but I'm enjoying it. A little slow to start, but everything is set up for a fun story.
