The Ada liked being seen as a boy. She felt like it fit, or at least the misfit of it fit, the wrongness was right.

Here is the cut, here is the fall, here is the empty that follows it all

I loved her because in the moment of her devastation, the moment she lost her mind, that girl reached for me so hard that she went completely mad, and I loved her because when I flooded through, she spread herself open and took me in without hesitation, bawling and broken, she absorbed me fiercely, all the way; she denied nothing.

The little quotes at each chapter are confusing me and would want someone to explain to me what they symbolize/mean. I’m allowing myself to be comfortable with the fact that not everything makes sense in this book but I am immensely appreciating this novel for all its artistry, poetry, and meaningfulness. Beyond my confusion I am thoroughly enjoying this

The transgender experience is so correct here
