I struggled with rating this because I really enjoyed the essays- but because it was a collection of works, rather than essays written for the purported purpose of the book, it lacked cohesiveness and don’t really fulfill the promise of its premise.

this david hockney chapter is written with such bite and grit, i really like it

3.5 really but gonna have to round down for the actual rating I think
