This section focuses more on the characters and their choices. You see how the driver struggles with guilt but still avoids taking responsibility, which shows he is not acting selflessly. Nora is dealing with grief, but she also starts thinking more about herself and her own life rather than others. overall many actions are driven by fear or self-interest. It really shows how Nora react differently under pressure.

This book was awesome. I had a phenomenal time reading it. The final stretch of the book really had me on my toes, especially the plot twist that A.J. was the killer and not Anderson. I'm glad that Nora was able to get justice for Driss. I hope that the baby Nora is having is Jeremy's kid; if not, that is really upsetting. There was just so much that happened that I wish it were just a bit longer.

I really hope that Nora ends up taking over the restaurant, makes tons of money, and gets married to Jeremy. That could be a stretch, but the satisfaction of proving her sister and mom wrong would be awesome. Aside from that, I think Nora will end up coming in contact with Efraín, or Efraín will step up and say something to Colemen. This could be the turning point in the story that helps Nora get justice for Driss.

Dotes are starting to connect. They have evidence that the baker did the hit-and-run, just not high enough standards of proof. They are in the last stretch of completing this case. It seems as if the family is starting to go back to normal activities and growing back together.

In the end, Jeremy committed the hit-and-run, and Erica is devastated and angry. Nora visits Jeremy in jail, trying to understand his actions, and she is torn between her feelings for him and the need for justice for her father. This is a lot of drama, which I enjoy in a book, and it was pretty easy to read because Lalami made it so that there aren't many boring parts. This book showed me that not everyone is honest.

I was caught off guard when I found out that Anderson Barker was the one who killed Driss. I read more about the Land Rover altercation. Anderson is always looking for the bad, never the good. I love Nora and Jeremy as a couple. I think he is helping Nora a lot with grief and more. Hopefully, Efraín will step up and say something; it would definitely help bring justice to this case and get Barker in jail.

As the book moves on, secrets start to unravel. Nora’s family is slowly starting to fall apart and is becoming chaotic. I feel like the author made a huge point on legacy and what people leave behind. He left so much weight on his family and that greatly affected them.

What an ending to the book, I never expected that to happen. Jeremy did a normal car stop and suddenly it became the biggest game changer in the book. For me the ending feels so intense. Everything happened during the last twenty pages, Nora and Jeremy and the Affair. For me this has been one of the best or the best book I've ever read. Murder mysteries have always been my favorites but this was on another level.

Nora is still dealing with her father’s death and being back to the town. Jeremy strat to find the clue of the case . He found out that the bowling alley owner has the same car and the same schedule. why the boss if the bowling alley what to kill Nora's father?
