Status Updates From How to Mars

This is really losing me. It's repetitive as hell, filled with so much garbage filler nothingness, and the attempted humor is a giant miss for me. The sort of alien life(?) was revealed, kinda, and I do want to know what happens with the pregnancy so I'm going to try to persevere but this may end up as a DNF.

Evidence suggests this author has never met a scientist or pregnant woman in his life. These people are all REALLY bad at their jobs.

This book is trying SO HARD to fill an Andy Weir-sized hole and failing spectacularly with nothing clever to say OR do.
