I read Hamlet my Senior year in High School along with ten or so of his plays. I am going to slowly work through studying every Shakespeare play over several years. I am starting with Hamlet. I will spend a week reviewing characters and plot structure. A week of watching a high quality production, a week or two to read it carefully. Then I will round it out with a discussion and maybe a podcast or YouTube video

I’m starting the book here, not reading any of the introductory chapters, for one of my English classes. (To read or not to read, that is the question—the answer is read. Definitely read)

HAMLET
To be, or not to be – that is the question;
Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them; to die: to sleep –
No more, and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to: ‘tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished – to die: to sleep –
