The narrative continues to disintegrate. When Violet and Christian come together, he makes love to her without taking his boots off or his breeches or her dress then a page later he addresses both of them. This is not good writing.

Where is the condemnation of Violet‘s parents? This was their fault to begin with, and their fault for the ending. Why is Max not saying this to Violet?

“She had every right to believe their fucking had meant more than that, because it had felt like more than that.” unworthy of the author.

Hard to believe the same person wrote this as the first in the series. She either phoned it in, or wasn’t in the moment. Rough going.

The pros is a little disappointing, compared with the previous title in the series. A little too much over the top.
