Just the kind of writing book I was hoping it would be. K.M. Weiland was my introduction to storytelling theory before I studied screenwriting, and she still holds up.

i still don’t fully understand why he wrote an entire book about theme cuz so many things seem beyond obvious but still. hoping to learn smth new (and i DO learn that) and add another dimension to my book :)

this book seems obvious? idk ik it’s only 13% but… im not finding it useful. i already got the message that theme, character, plot are all symbiotic as hell and can enhance each other. they can also ruin the story—if theme doesn’t support the plot/character and isn’t isn’t supported back
