Status Updates From Undeath Ascendant: A Vampir...

Once again the short stories are drastically outperforming the third act of this omnibus, each one I read makes me think how good all these short stories would be for an anthology series and I love it

As poor as the third book was, the second short story more than made up for it. In fact it was truly remarkable. With so little time you were able to visualize the two main characters and the supporting role. It was written so smoothly that it all seemed natural. A work of art some would say. Easily a 5 star short story. Looking forward to the other two.

Just finished the third book within the omnibus and I must say that it was dreadful. It seemed like a first or second draft for what had the potential to be a fascinating story. All the elements were there but it desperately needed some more work and edits. It seemed jumbled at times, jumping from pov to pov, sometimes on the same page. But I can’t give this section more than one star. Disappointing sadly

First two books in the omnibus were great and amazing. The third is downright boring and poorly written. Slogging through it so hopefully the short stories will be better.

The first part with the red duke was pretty kick ass, although I wish they explored more of his time in his living life with the crusades against araby and then his original vampiric rampage. The plot with the de’elbeqs and the gauberts was actually very satisfying especially with its grizzly end.

The second book with the “not gypsies” was also fantastic but left me wanting more. No we are onto the final book
