The author said in the beginning of the book that she wasn’t gonna talk about Aaliyah’s relationship with him. I get that. But why am I getting a mini bio about the man? Just say he mentored her and move awn 😕

Kathy raises the question, “where were you when Aaliyah died?” She then goes into how Aaliyah’s death was overshadowed by 9/11.
I was 6 when Aaliyah died. I have no recollection of her death or 9/11 (didn’t learn about it until the 7th grade, but that’s for a different day).
I didn’t realize how close 9/11 and Aaliyah’s death were to the point of overshadowing…
