Declaration of love after incident of wife beater. And the tail just goes on like gutter water rushing down the street.

Josh Turner “just to be your man.” Play that a few times to get into the mood.

The inevitable consummation. One interesting wrinkle, the bounder Edgar comes scratching at the door shortly after Perry has come through the window. Edgar is dispatched and a mutual seduction follows. This romance is totally disjointed.

Winifred, Imogen’s cousin is just as obnoxious as she is. Well, perhaps even a little more. This is no picnic.

Ticky-boo. And here we have definite proof of the fallen Dukes interest in the bitch Imogen. Jordan has created one of her most unsympathetic, unlikable, supercilious character.
There is no retrieval for her in the narrative. She has gone over the cliff.

“Apparently no one was immune from turpitude.”
This perfectly describes the offense of the author in penning this title.

“Could this be why you are such a kissing maven?”
It just gets worse and worse and worse. There is not been a single red redemption.

Imogen is simply an awful heroine. A gossip, a liar, a rumor monger, in short, a spiteful bitch.

Out of the blue, the sixth grade narrative tries to become erotic, without success. Basically embarrassing.

Now that was a very painful scene. The ex Duke kissing Imogen and both being overwhelmed by it. Jarring, an incident of passion that felt rather like ingesting something down the wrong tube of the throat. Definitely one of the worst descriptions I have ever read.

And hear Mrs. Berry cloth is saying to Imogen that she has a nice teeth and a dancing partner has a nice teeth, so they should dance. I am not laughing, but I am not crying. A narrative of neutrality.

Yes, the writing is sophomoric, but still there are truisms that warrant attention.

Aside from the fact that this is a sixth grade level read, there was a sentence that I have pondered often: “Why was it that the wretched memories were always the ones that stuck with you?”

The game was pall – MALL. It wasn’t called croquet until 1850. Disappointing that little research wouldn’t have corrected this. Doesn’t bode well.

The cover sucks. Hopefully the book will be better. It is the last in the book bag. Encouraging, the dedication is for those of us that made it to 2020. It is now 2026, we are still breathing, barely.
